| What does a dyno tuning session consist of?Discuss
your goals for the dyno session and gain an understanding of your
typical use of the vehicle. This is important to understand as this
drives our tuning strategy. Strap the vehicle to the dyno and attach all required data acquisition components such as RPM, A/F monitor sensor, etc. Create
an initial baseline power curve. This will give us a good starting
point. This data will be viewed and discussed with you and we will
identify areas of the fuel curve that we feel need to be addressed to
reach our previously discussed goals. Run various tests and make changes made to the carburetor, EFI, Timing etc. of your vehicle to maximize output. Compare
the results with the baseline. When we feel that we have completed all
possible changes the baseline test will be overlaid over the final test
to verify output gains. Prepare your output
printouts. Data from each "run" or "pull" is captured by a sophisticated
software program. You will receive a computer printout of your dyno
pulls showing RPM, horsepower, torque, and A/F ratio. You will receive
computer print outs of each test and comparison charts for "before" and
"after" sessions. Competition Tuning stores your data for future
comparisons.
Why should I put my racecar on a dyno?
Eliminate
costly track practice time and pre-race surprises during the racing
season by testing and tuning during the off months. Competition Tuning
Chassis Dynos give you the opportunity to test your vehicle after engine
or drive train modifications, but before you hit the track. Test
all the areas that represent a potential power loss or affect
acceleration -- fuels, lubricants, exhaust, induction -- virtually
anything that affects power acceleration. Then make the necessary
adjustments while it's on the dyno and test it again. The computer
measures the difference and verifies when it's just right.
So why pick Competition Tuning? We'll let you tune your car on our dyno. In some cases we will let you drive your car on our dyno. (we won't allow any unsafe operation to happen) We can schedule your session to be private and closed if you want to keep your results confidential.
